Cambodia is experiencing a quiet revolution in its fashion industry, one driven by sustainability and youth-led innovation. In this TEDx talk, Tiffany Bopha-Doche explores the evolution of Cambodian fashion, from its cultural roots and post-genocide legacy to a new generation reshaping its future. Bridging traditional textiles with contemporary design, young Cambodian designers are transforming waste into opportunity, reclaiming cultural identity while championing sustainable practices. Their work highlights how fashion can play a vital role in protecting Cambodia’s natural resources, from endangered species to fragile ecosystems, and in redefining creativity as a force for regeneration. Tifanny Bophadavy Doche is a Cambodian fashion designer and Global Ambassador and Lead Designer for Re-Made in Cambodia. As the Founder of Revivre Studio, she champions sustainable fashion, cultural identity, and timeless design. Born in France to a Khmer-Chinese family, Tifanny studied at ESMOD Fashion Design and Business School, interned at Viktor & Rolf, and worked as a stylist in Paris before returning to Cambodia in 2020 to pursue her vision for Khmer-inspired design. In 2022, she launched Revivre Studio, a made-to-order and ready-to-wear brand rooted in slow fashion and Cambodian craftsmanship. Her work has been featured in Phnom Penh Designers Week and other showcases. In 2023, she collaborated with Re-Made in Cambodia for the Earth Day Fashion Project, transforming discarded river clothing into new creations. Through her art, Tifanny seeks to elevate Cambodia’s creative voice and promote a sustainable, conscious fashion future. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
