Can The F Word* create a production-ready fashion tech pack, and how much of the final document can you actually trust? In this video, I’m continuing my AI tech pack review mini-series with a closer look at The F Word*. This is Part 2 of the series, following my review of AI Tech Packs. For this review, I used the same complex combat shirt style so I could compare how each platform handles similar product development information. I looked at the full workflow, from the initial design input through to the generated tech pack, checking how the platform handled: • Design interpretation • Materials and fabric compositions • Bill of Materials • Construction details • Technical callouts • Sizing logic • Points of Measure • AI-generated assumptions • Supplier handover readiness The F* Word provided credits so I could run the test and show the workflow properly on screen. This is not a paid partnership, and they have had no editorial input or approval over this video. As with the rest of this series, I’m not just looking at whether the tech pack looks polished. I’m looking at whether the technical information is accurate enough to support real product development, sampling and production. There were definitely useful elements in the workflow, especially in how the platform helps structure a more complete-looking document. But there were also important areas where confirmed information was changed, new assumptions were added, and the output needed careful technical review. This is Part 2 of the mini-series, and I’ll be reviewing more AI tech pack platforms next so we can compare how each tool handles the same type of product information. If you work in fashion product development, technical design, garment technology, sourcing, sampling, pattern cutting or fashion education, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts. Would you use an AI-generated tech pack as a first draft? And what would you need to see before trusting one for supplier handover? Subscribe to follow
